Jankowski Posted November 14, 2025 Posted November 14, 2025 Hey fellow Krayt Clan Denizens! I'm currently working on four Tusken builds simultaneously (2 ANH Cliff Attacks and 2 ANH v1s) but as soon as these are wrapped up, I'm planning to work on Mando Season 1 Tuskens (both the gaffi and rifle versions), then move on to developing a Mando Season 2 Tusken (based on the ones featured in chapter 9: The Marshal), and probably a AOTC Tusken after that just for fun. Attached are some photos from a couple of my current builds. The helmet on the right (the weathered one) is an ANH Cliff Attack style which was built by our local Capital City Garrison Tusken expert Andy Pegan. I believe Andy's kit uses the Studio Creations shell as a base, and the greebles/hardware on it are resin which include the little lip on the tip of the bloodspitters to make it meet Cliff Attack specs. The helmet on the left (the one that needs weathering) was built by myself on a Studio Creations shell from Jeff Allen, and the greebles are the 3D printed PLA ones available with the Studio Creations shell (no raised lip on the tip of the bloodspitters which means this one will be an ANH v1 instead of a Cliff Attack). What I'd love to know are: Does anyone here on the forums have side-by-side comparison photos of all our different basic Tusken types (ANH, ANH Cliff Attack, AOTC, Mando, etc)? For those that have built AOTC Tuskens or Mando/BoBF Tuskens, is there a particular kit you felt worked well for these builds (or did you build a custom shell)? I love the look ANH Tuskens built on the Studio Creations shell mostly because I'm a child of the 1970s and it's how I remember them looking as a kid. But obviously the muzzle/mouth shape is slightly different on the more modern Tuskens with the nose piece built into the mouth on some. And I want to use a different base shell for my AOTC and Mando Tuskens, rather than trying to modify the Studio Creations shells. I've been considering Jedha Workshop and DHPFX kits, but figured I'd ask around here first to consult the clan... Thanks!!!! Quote
Nezhdanov Posted November 15, 2025 Posted November 15, 2025 Hi, While the SC base for the helmet are good, I have one, I feel the cliff attack head needs a different shaped mouth area. The SC base is good for some of the ANH Tuskens but not so much for the specific character that is the Peter Diamond / Cliff attack. For references for ANH and AotC I’ll include these links…https://www.kraytclan.com/forum/topic/8571-reference-images-for-anh-tuskens/https://www.kraytclan.com/forum/topic/8565-reference-supporting-info-from-collectors-and-reproductions/#comment-86432https://www.kraytclan.com/forum/topic/8568-reference-images-for-aotc-male-costume/https://www.kraytclan.com/forum/topic/8567-reference-images-for-aotc-female-costume/?_fromLogin=1The SC base is good for this type of ANH Tusken…Close up…But the Peter Diamond / Cliff Attack head has a different look, especially around the mouth…If I were a GML I would expect a specific character to look like it does in the film. Here’s my SC based head but I would not think to pass this off as a Peter Diamond / cliff attack head personally, but it is a good generic ANH Tusken. You could of course modify the SC base to match the Peter Diamond / cliff attack better.Apart from the links above, there are reference images in each of the Tusken types either by staff or members. I don’t think anyone has compared all Tusken types but you could put something together from the references if it would help?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

I agree. Andy's kit (which uses the SC shell as the base) came with a couple of 3D printed wedge shapes that he uses to give the mouth area of the SC a more defined shape. I've been following his lead, using his plastic wedges as a template, and incorporating them into each SC build I'm working on. 1 Quote
Nezhdanov Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 That sounds helpful!I’ve seen some very angular Tusken mouth areas which I suspect is due to 3D printing so just ensure the bottom of the mouth area is more rounded when putting together like in the references [emoji4]Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
