Nezhdanov Posted January 29, 2024 Posted January 29, 2024 Hi I thought it might be helpful to have some reference images of this striking costume? These are probably well known by now but I don’t think they are on here? I’ve tend to post the images with the ‘small’ option on tapatalk but can post larger images if needed. Hopefully will show most of the details of the costume such as the two ways of wearing the shawl.Just a little supporting information, on the blu ray release of the first 6 films there is a little feature on this costume. In the feature Gillian Libbert the costume supervisor at the time mentions that the textures for this costume and the wrapping of the hands were the same as (ANH). This might have been more that there were design cues taken from the first film rather than literally being the same material! In the film the costume could only be worn for 10 or 15 minutes at a time as it was tight fitting and had no peripheral vision. I think it was Trisha Biggar who was a costume designer of the episode 2 Tusken female.See link for an article about the designer at https://www.starwars.com/news/clones-at-20-trisha-biggar-interview Here we can see the shawl with the rougher panel joins showing and another variation with the smoother shawl panel joins showing. Nezhdanov Posted May 28, 2024 Author Posted May 28, 2024 These two images were from an old interview at Skywalker ranch talking about the 1000+ costumes that were designed for the prequel films. Other costumes were highlighted in the interview but the AotC female costume was briefly shown. ANH Tusken fans might recognise the foreground model seen in other ANH reference images. It gave a different look at the costume head and showed fairly consistent pummelling of the material presumably to knock it into shape. There are some views of the various panels on the head and gives a better look of the circular head detail. There are not many incites we can gain for this costume when just watching the film so we have to use other sources which may or may not be reliable. As always you are free to think of this as supporting information or simply disregard.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 Quote
