Happy New Year Denizens!

What better way to ring in the new year than with a Gaffi stick build?  I wanted to construct a sturdy Gaffi with parts that were easily obtainable.  I found all of the ingredients at my local Lowe's Home Improvement Store.  If you'd like to see the build, please check out the video below:

This was a fun build, and it was also fun playing dress-up for the video.  I used some ideas from TK409 and also BCarp100 (on this site):

A few pics of the Gaffi:

Hello TD20574 (fellow Sandtrooper!), the fin template is the last item on the parts list in the original post.  There is a link that goes to my blog where the templates are located.  Here is a direct link:  http://bit.ly/2iY5qJB

You can get it at Lowe's, Home Depot, and Amazon: http://amzn.to/2jco9o9  Its about 10-11$US.  Its a nice big can, so it will last you a long time for other projects.

I purchased all of the parts from Lowes, here is the link for the part: https://m.lowes.com/pd/Keeney-1-1-4-in-Rubber-Square-Cut-Washer/1076279 it was in the plumbing section. If you have a Lowes near you, put your zipcode in the location and it will tell you if it is in stock and which aisle and bin it is located in the store. You can also try ordering it. Good luck in your quest!

Not to hijack your thread, but I did all of this last night. To anybody contemplating this build, I totally recommend it. It has been very fun and with HT's video, very easy! Thanks again HT

I ended up using the following dremel bit to carve out all of the lines - this allowed me to skip the initial cutting step.

WHOA!  Nice job on the pineapple FantasticDamage!  And thanks for the tip on the Dremel bit!  I really like those lines, they look better than the ones I carved.  If you have progress pics (or another build thread), please share with us.  Keep up the great work!

Thanks HT! I started another thread of my complete Tusken build here. However, below is my completed Gaffi. I kept the build the same as your tutorial except I added patches of Bondo on the staff to simulate knots and/or bark. With that said, you have way better Bondo skills than I do! :)

Thanks again HT for such an awesome tutorial, I couldn't have done it without you. :DZ:

I can pick one up for you and mail it if needed.  I am about 3/4 of the way through this build and loving it so far!   May give me something to do tomorrow morning while I am waiting for my wife's medical appointment to be over.

HappyTrooper, you made a Happy Denizen here.  The directions were spot-on, but the thing I appreciated the most was the parts list.  The only way you could have made it better is to tell me what aisle at Lowes and if the item is on the left or right side.  :-P  BTW, do you know if a wooden shaft made from a tree limb would get approved?  We have an oak tree in the backyard that has been providing me with materials for not-so-straight walking sticks.  I want to use an oak limb for my next Gaffi, but only if I know it could get approved.  Again, thanks bunches for the super-easy instructions.
