I cut my pockets out of the tan marine vinyl from Jo-Ann. I also bought WAAAY too much. Have a feeling mine are gonna be too small as well.

Weathered my waist pouches while the baby sleeps...

I started with a dark color and went lighter...

Since Colorado is a "green" state, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to use Hemp. :) I could care less about everything 420 and the stuff that goes with it but I have read and read information on hemp. Hemp's fibers develop in a way that make them stronger than cotton(true fact!). Any who... I used hemp cord to tie my snowy hand plates to the glove and I couldn't be happier! So off of my soapbox and teaching stool, here's my rope for the sash!

Boots: take two!

Okay so the wife and baby went shopping so I went to the garage to work on the boots. Unfortunately, it was a short trip. :(

Here are my boots........ again:

Posted Image

The back of the heel had this knobby thing for removal of the boots.. I removed them.

Posted Image

As you can see, my Dremel skills suck so I used sandpaper for the rest.

Posted Image

Both boots!

Posted Image

I would have more but mommy and baby came home sooner.

Thanks for looking.

Here's all my glue!!

As you could see, I wrapped part of the boot in excess fabric and applied the Barge so my strips will have a good base to adhere to...

6 months later....

I started wrapping my boots!

Trying to wrap a curved surface sucks. You use so much fabric.

You can see the two different fabrics I'm using.

A little screw up to give it some depth

Left boot wrapping is complete!

Shoe Gooing my sole...

I'm trying something different. Instead of taking pics, I dipped my toes into video filming.

It's under 10 mins. It was my first attempt using Shoe Goo and filming so I apologize.

Thanks for looking, no wait.. Thanks for watching! :)

Thanks for posting the video. How quickly does it dry? Let us know how it is walking in them a before and after summary of the difference would be great. I'll be adding the shoe goo to mine next week.

It's pretty quick to dry but I'm waiting 24 hours for it to totally cure.

WARNING:

It smells very chemically. Kinda like Barge cement on crack! I had to take them out to the garage to cure. They will probably be out there for a long while until that smell wears off.

Bending the aluminum:

I used a broom handle to get a nice and even bend.

And double checking length. That was the hardest because breather had to go over my fat head but couldn't droop down too far.

More progress!!!

I had issues with the inside corners after I trimmed 10 inches off.

9C3E0758-21C9-4F64-A36F-A46137AE8532_zpsr7gpxsek.jpg

So I sewn them to the back seam:

I hemmed the bottom zigzag style for the weathering process so I'm officially done with the outer robe!!

And now for my sleeves.

I decided to do gauntlet size because my outer robe will cover most of them.

Here are some "test" shots

I'm not sure I'll keep the finger loop once I sew Velcro.

What else is there to do when there's 12 inches of snow and you're all Netflix binged out? Finish all my sewing!

It's kinda hard to measure when you're by yourself...

And my gauntlets are done(minus thread clipping...

This is why I didn't do full sleeves,

My inner and outer robes are tighter on the wrist..

Dr. Strange's collar was my inspiration.. I didn't want a baclava, but I needed to cover my neck...
