Well the book doesn't necessarily make any of the band out to be scourge so much as he swindled the rest of the band...good enough justification for me.
The CRL that was approved is good, but there are a few things I would have recommended we allow/use from other CRLs. For example the boots. The Bith Musician CRL for boots says:
Black jack-boot style boots are made of leather or leather like material.
Simple with no adorning features (IE: buckles, laces)
Mid-calf in height
Because it is very difficult to find original jack boots, we could have said something along the lines of other jack boot costumes:
Calf high black leather or leather like material.
Normal leather grain/texture/lines are acceptable
Free of laces, decorative stitching, buckles on the instep or any other embellishments.
Boots may have a single adjustment strap at the top outside of the boot, with the buckle no wider than 1".
This need not be functional.
Jackboot buckles should not be shiny/can be painted dingy grey or gun-metal color.
Hobnails may be present on the front of the jackboots.
Tread on the soles and heels is acceptable
Zippers on the inside of the boot are acceptable, so long as they are concealed by the same material as the boot
German "jack boot" style boots are most canon.
Because of the wording on ours Bith that are RL approvable with the top strap will technically not be allowed in the 501st.
I do not know how to make the other instruments, but we could have listed those in the optional accessories as well.
Again....I am excited to see the Bith and have submitted mine, I just think we could have had some great discussions in the Fringe Denizens section of our forums.
