Also, I forgot to mention that although Im in the process of being a Jawa I am also waiting for my Boushh costume to be completed however its on backlist and still has quite a while before it will be finished. Needless to say, being able to join the team sooner than expected is definitely an awesome feeling. I'm stoked!

Thanks everyone! Here's an update on my progress: A couple of 501st members have already offered to help me sew my robe together which has been a relief seeing as I'm pretty hopeless with a sewing machine. Thanks to all the people who have helped me in the process of making this costume (you know who you are) I should be finished with my costume very soon. Can't wait to show everyone the finished project!! -Melyssa
  5. Fresh Jawa Meat

Hey everyone!! I'm new to the forums and ridiculously excited to complete my Jawa costume and get to know everybody on here. I'm 5'1'' and although I've wrangled for the 501st before, I've never dreamed of being able to join. I figured since I'm so short, I was pretty limited to the Rebel Legion (as Leia) or something that would be perfect for my height, but costly and beyond my budget and skill ability. After talking to some jawas from the Desert Scorpion squad and getting all the details from those lovely ladies, it occurred to me that being a jawa was possible for me! I'd finally be able to join and as a jawa no less!!! Needless to say, I was not disappointed in my discovery. With any luck, I'll be finished with my Jawa costume before the end of the month! So far, Ive completed my mask (it turned out much better than I thought it would and was much easier to make than I anticipated) and now Im in the process of ordering bandoleer. I'm getting some material by next week for my robe and then I can start on sewing and trimming material for my boots. I've gone through some of the older "how to" and "Instructional" posts for help on constructing my robe and hood and with fingers crossed and all the support I can get, it should turn out just fine. Any tips from those of you who have made your own costume (or know stories of people who have) would be greatly appreciated as I'm determined to get this done right and there's no better way to do that then to ask the people who have "been there and done that." Thanks for reading guys!! -Melyssa (aka the new jawa girl)
  6. " how to build a Jawa" (from Team Jawa)

Very helpful! Thanks for the details and including the photos. I can't wait to get started on my robe. Getting material soon, next step...sewing!!
